What is 1000 to 1400 in military time

Military time is a way of expressing time using the 24-hour clock system, rather than the traditional 12-hour format. This system is used to help prevent confusion and miscommunication among military personnel and those who work with them. Military time uses four digits to indicate the hour, so 1000 in military time translates to 10 o'clock in the morning in standard time, while 1400 would be 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

Using military time can be a useful system for anyone who needs to communicate about short intervals of time, or for those in certain professions such as aviation and maritime transport that must use this system for critical communication purposes. Those involved in emergency services may also find military time helpful, as confusing a two-digit number like 22 for 2200 could be critical in an incident.

In order to determine what any 4-digit number means in standard time, it's important to remember that 00 is midnight and that any four-digit number ending with 00 – such as 1400 or 1700 – will fall on the hour mark when converted into 12 hour clock (standard) time.

For example, if you were looking at 1100 on a clock using military time, you would know it means 11 o'clock AM in regular/standard sequence of hours (1AM). Similarly, if something was scheduled at 1430 it would read 2:30 PM (14:30).

It can also be helpful to remember that when you subtract from 2400 (military/24 hour format), what you're really doing is subtracting from noon/midday/12PM – so 1230 actually becomes 0000 once one takes out 1200 from it. Approximately half of all military times have increased digits by 300 increments; this means 1000 — which is ten o'clock — will usually become 1300 at 1PM which is 13:00 on the 24-hour clock. In addition, 1400 will normally convert into 1700 which is 5PM (17:00).
